Undaground Designz

 
In the fall of 2024, the graffiti artists from Undaground Designz transformed the ceilings of the Neukölln Arcades into an urban work of art. Three so-called “islands of light” were designed by the experienced artist and unveiled at a vernissage on November 15, 2024.

Working on the ceilings while the shopping center remained open presented a logistical challenge, even for the seasoned street artists. “We couldn’t work with spray cans as usual and first had to make sure we had good access to the surfaces,” explained Carlo Gröning of Undaground Designz. Despite the obstacles, the excitement was palpable: “Realizing our designs here means a lot to us – because they’ll be seen by many people in the Neukölln Arcades!”
